I feel like, before I actually start the point of this blog, I should address the origins. In 2020, I had an idea to create desserts based off of MCU movies and characters. It was one of those things that came to mind because we were all bored senseless, but my roommate and good friend, who also happens to be a film producer, suggested 1) making it vegan and 2) creating content for YouTube. I said great! We can collaborate on this cool little project. We were stuck at home, and despite being in grad school, I spent wayyyyy too much time on Zoom.

Fast forward to early 2022-ish (I think??). At this point, I’d started a full-time job, and his work was picking back up again. Our schedules stopped overlapping as much, and it became harder to make time to film, let alone to edit and create side content (like tiktoks and tweets and such). We began by saying we were going to put things on pause, but that turned into a permanent hiatus from creating videos. If you’re interested in seeing some of the videos, search YouTube for Kay’s Cakes. It’s mostly filled with videos from the original “MCU Bake-a-thon”, but there’s a few others.

I left the YouTube channel up for posterity, but lately I’ve missed bringing my creativity and nerdy joy to the kitchen (and he’s missed my vegan baking). I’ve always been more of a writer to begin with, so I thought continuing some of my concepts on a blog would be… more manageable.

Current concepts I have in mind: Disney and Pixar-inspired bakes; MCU Bake-a-Thon 2.0, and Harry Potter. So check back in for my recipe for Snow White’s Gooseberry Pie!
